The Cullman County Fair is a vibrant community event sponsored by our local Lions Club that brings together families and friends for ten days of fun, fair rides, tasty culinary creations and a celebration of our produce and livestock farmers. The fair highlights several competitions–livestock, produce, folk art, canning and baked goods. One of the highlights of the fair is the monster vegetables competition where folks can see the largest pumpkins grown in our area. Another is the homemade scarecrow contest, where participants craft imaginative, elaborate, or sometimes humorous scarecrows. Alongside this, the pumpkin decorating contest showcases a variety of artistic designs, from spooky to whimsical, allowing people of all ages to express their creativity. This year we had 494 entries in our CCMG “Garden Discoveries” drawing contest! Together, these contests add a festive and interactive element to the Cullman County Fair, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Congratulations to these Barefoot University students, who won second place for their scarecrow in the CCMG competition! They generously donated their prize money to purchase a sign for the outdoor classroom in the Wildflower Garden at Sportsman Lake Park! Thank you, students!
